Day 1: Arusha to Makuyuni Wildlife Park and Karatu
Morning: After an early breakfast in Arusha, your driver-guide will pick you up for the approximately 1.5-hour drive to Makuyuni Wildlife Park. This park is a key wildlife corridor and offers an authentic safari experience with excellent birdwatching opportunities. Enjoy a morning game drive here.
Afternoon: Have a picnic lunch in the park. Afterward, continue your drive toward the Ngorongoro Highlands, a journey of roughly one hour. You will drive through scenic landscapes, including the Rift Valley escarpment.
Evening: Arrive at Tloma Lodge in Karatu, a colonial-style lodge located on a coffee plantation with stunning views. Check in, relax, and enjoy dinner and your first overnight stay.
Day 2: Karatu to Serengeti National Park
Morning: Depart from Tloma Lodge after breakfast for the scenic drive to Serengeti National Park. The journey takes several hours and includes a game drive en route.
Afternoon: Arrive at the Serengeti Kati Kati Tented Camp, located in the central Seronera region of the park. Check in and have lunch.
Evening: Head out for your first game drive in the legendary Serengeti. The central Seronera region is known for its high density of big cats, especially lions and leopards. Return to camp for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Full Day in Serengeti National Park
Morning: Enjoy a full day of game driving in the Serengeti. Explore the Seronera River Valley and surrounding plains in search of the park's diverse wildlife, including elephants, buffalo, cheetahs, and the famous wildebeest herds. You have the option of a hot air balloon safari over the plains (additional cost).
Lunch: A picnic lunch will be served in a designated picnic area in the park, allowing you to maximize your time for game viewing.
Evening: Continue your game drive before returning to the Serengeti Kati Kati Tented Camp for dinner around a campfire.
Day 4: Full Day in Serengeti National Park
Morning: Another full day of safari awaits in the Serengeti. Your guide will take you to different areas of the park to maximize wildlife viewing opportunities and track resident and migratory animals. Depending on the season, you might witness dramatic scenes like river crossings during the Great Migration.
Lunch: Another picnic lunch in the wilderness.
Evening: Enjoy a final sunset game drive in the Serengeti before returning to Kati Kati Camp for dinner and your last night under the stars.
Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater and return to Arusha
Morning: Rise early for breakfast and depart for the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Descend 600 meters into the Ngorongoro Crater for a breathtaking game drive on the caldera floor. The crater is a unique ecosystem with a very high concentration of animals, including the elusive black rhino.
Lunch: Enjoy a picnic lunch on the crater floor next to the hippo pool.
Afternoon: After your game drive, ascend the crater walls and begin the journey back to Arusha.
Evening: Arrive in Arusha in the late afternoon or early evening, where you will be dropped off at your hotel.
